Split Elk Antlers for Dogs

RidgeRunner's Split Elk Antler chews are a great choice for dogs that are new to elk antlers, more tentative or occasional chewers, puppies or older dogs. Since these elk antlers are split down the middle, they will be easier for pups to get to the delicious nutrient-rich marrow that lies inside. Though split elk antler chews will not last as long as whole elk antlers with more aggressive chewing dogs, they will still make a great treat for your four-legged friend. Our Jumbo Split and Giant Split Elk antlers are cut from the base and include the burr. These will be a much tougher split chew...great for larger and more aggressive chewers that insist on only chewing split antlers. For our smaller furry customers, we can cut our petite, small and mediums splits into quarters so that they can get to the marrow more easily. Let us know your preference at checkout by adding a note.

Bear in mind that our split elk antlers are the same average size and weight as the corresponding size whole elk antlers...not half of the whole antler. For example, our Large Whole Elk antler chews weigh on average 6 ounces each. Our Large Split Elk Antler chews are cut from a 12 ounce piece of antler to get you the same size 6 ounce chew (on average).

Are split antlers safe for my pet?

Unlike nylon, rawhide or beef bones, elk antler dog chews are 100% natural, won't splinter or create a smelly mess on your carpet or furniture. Dogs find elk antler chews irresistible and they are full of essential minerals such as calcium, zinc, magnesium and glucosamine that will keep your pet happy and healthy. Antler chews are also a terrific way to keep your pups teeth clean and shiny by scraping the tartar buildup from their teeth.

Not sure which antler size is best for your pup?

Check out our handy Antler Sizing Guide. If your dog's weight is on the edge of two antler chew sizes we suggest erring on the next size up. A smaller dog can always tackle a larger chew but an undersized chew for a larger and more aggressive chewing dog will not last long at all.
